Las Vegas Rock Star Poker Tournament

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Clear Channel Entertainment Properties are partnering for the second annual Vegas Rock Star Poker Tournament and Sweepstakes.

The event, which will be held Aug. 25-27 at the Palms Casino Resort, will feature participation from Kiss’ Gene Simmons, former Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro and former Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell.

And I thought it was crowded yesterday. You should try walking through the Rio when the main event is on break, as I just did. It’s like swimming against the current. The $10,000 buy in grandaddy of all World Series of Poker events began at 11 a.m. today, with about 5,500 people participating. There’s certainly electricity in the air that wasn’t here before.

CBS Poker Tournament Show

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - CBS Sports has given the green light to a poker tournament where viewers can play along with the pros.
CBS has signed a deal with ProJo Poker Enterprises to televise eight of 20 ProJo Poker Tournaments beginning Christmas Day. They include the ProJo Christmas Poker Classic, the U.S. National Team Poker Championships, the U.S. National Amateur Poker Championship and the U.S. Grand Nationals Professional Poker Championship. The agreement also includes the finals, which will be held early next year in Las Vegas.
