The UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act passed on Friday, October 13th prohibits US financial institutions from making transactions with “unlawful gambling” sites. Despite the fact that the definition of “unlawful gambling” does not include poker, many well established online poker rooms have all jumped ship and are no longer taking US poker players.
