Ladies and Gentlemen, the holy land is near. Poker Tracker the next generation is going to include an OS X version!
The geniuses at Full Tilt who have catered to the Mac Faithful in a way that no one else has, will soon be joined by PokerStars. These two poker rooms – and hopefully others will be so much more fun if we can run them on OS X with Poker Tracker actively tracking stats and, dare I say it, PokerAce HUD displaying real time info right on the tables. Finally, the PC poker world is realizing that AAPL‘s stock going from 50 to 160, and the mac user base and safari browser share both steadily rising means more MACs on the street and that means more MAC poker players out there.
This is what we’ve been waiting for!
And Poker Tracker is come down to deliver the Mac Poker Players out of the hand of the PC drones, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with online mac poker milk and honey
Apparently the new version is going to be cross platform compatible – and will work equally well on OS X, Linux and ugh – windoze. It is being developed on the PC and on OS X – the PT folks just bought a brand new MacBook Pro for this project. The Poker Tracker crew predicts “We are hoping to have alpha testing by early November then public beta testing by mid/end November. ”
If you’ve been using Poker Tracker via Parallels, your old PT db will be importable into PT3. This spells sad days ahead for MacPoker Pro…or it could mean a renewed effort on OpenEnd’s part to get a better version out. What would Poker Tracker be without Poker Ace HUD? Josh is also working on his OS X version.
Hopefully these will be out soon. I can barely wait.
