Today the EPT Berlin was interrupted by armed gunmen who rushed the cage and took an unknown quantity of euros. Apparently, the security guard in the video, Roman, pulled a bunch of euros off of one of the thieves. He had him in some brutal MMA hold until the thieves friends returned and freed him. Early stimates put the take at 800-1M euros, but recently it seems a lot less had gone missing.

James McManus, the author of Positively Fifth Street, has a great new book out: Cowboys Full: The Story of Poker.  It is getting quite a bit of mainstream press, including this review in the New York Times.  The most interesting recent mention comes from Mr. McManus himself, in this essay for the Daily Beast.  In this article, he takes us through five great books where the game of poker plays like a crucial character.

We here at Poker-Mac have always enjoyed a McManus read, and wish Jim the best of luck (or is it skill?) with his new book.  But if he shows up at Pokerstars, we will show him no mercy.
