Galen Hall wins PCA Main Event

Galen Hall wins PCA 2011 Main EventNice Job, Galen.

The online MTT pro made it through the field, and battled a tough final table to make it to heads up.  ESPN3 did a great job with the live feed of the heads up match.  Chris Oliver the massive chip leader and Galen played great poker to survive and win.

Most impressive was the laydown made early in heads up play.  Hall held 84o vs. Oliver’s A2o.  A lot of check calling to the river on an intriguing flop and turn, 5322, giving Hall an open ender and Galen trip ducks.  River card was a massive cooler – Ace of spades giving Hall the wheel vs. Oliver’s boat.  Hall bet 2.3 million chips and Oliver shoved.  After some tank time, Hall released his straight.  Decision of the tournament for the eventual winner.

Hall doubled up twice shortly thereafter reversing the chip ratio.  The rest of heads up featured a dejected Oliver mucking and bluffing until he was picked off and Hall walked away with his first major live tournament score at $2.3 million.

Will we see you at pokerstars soon, Mr. Hall?
