PokerNetwork Flaw fixed in Mac Poker Pro 1.25 Release

If you are already a Mac based online poker player, you may already know about the mess the last couple of weeks over at pokerroom.com where a server software update caused havoc with the staple of Mac Poker Analysis software, MacPoker Pro from OpenEnd Software. It seems pokerroom.com is somewhat responsive, as they quickly added back the previous/next links that had been removed from hand histories and even more responsive was Stas and the OpenEnd team who put together a new release, 1.25. With this release and the PR amendement, MPP is able to download all your hand histories with no more autologin problems at pokerroom and the pokernetwork skins. This is key to me, as I am still trying to clear my HoldEm Poker bonus…

Here are the MPP 1.25 Release Notes:

There are some very important changes in this version of MacPoker Pro and we wanted to ensure that you knew about them if you disregarded the Release Notes.

- Hand refresh interval. This is used to tell MPP how long to wait (in seconds) between hands to try and get the Hand History. You can fine tune this, depending on your session and connection, to reduce the lag. If you are entering a Hand number long after it’s been played, you can reduce to 1 second and quickly get the entire session.

- Auto Refresh. In prior versions, MacPoker Pro tried to cleverly determine if it should automatically refresh the Session Statistics (based upon how long it had been since the hand was played). This was buggy and complicated by users in different time zones, so I decided to let you control it yourself. It is also useful if you monitor many tables at once and only want the Statistics to be refreshed on demand.

- Compact Database options when Quiting. Hold down the control key when Quitting to force MacPoker Pro to Compact the database. Compacting reduces the size of the database and improves performance slightly each time it’s done. It will still happen automatically at a predetermined interval to keep things running smoothly. If you would like to shut down quickly and skip the Compacting process, hold down the option key instead.

- Prune Opponent Data. Added under the statistics menu to improve performance for those users with large numbers of hands in their database. MacPoker Pro deletes the detailed hand information and statistics for those users that meet the criteria you specify - the Players themselves are not deleted. NOTE: Some data will be deleted using this feature. It will be difficult to recover if you make a mistake. I’d recommend backing up your data directory prior to doing this (the entire ~/Library/Application Support/MacPoker Pro) just to be safe.

Thank you,
MacPoker Pro Team
